Feriensiedlung Aragon in Ernen
Ferienstudio Heidi is located in the Aragon Feriensiedlung, 3995 Ernen, Switzerland. The Aragon Feriensiedlung consists of 21 houses. These houses contain 156 holiday apartments. Heidi is one of them. ‘Feriensiedlung’ means ‘holiday village’. It is a small complex. There is no entertainment programme and no swimming pool. People come here to enjoy the beauty of nature, take part in sporting activities and relax in their holiday home.

Facilities near Ferienstudio Heidi
There is a kiosk and a bread roll service on the Feriensiedlung. The village centre is within walking distance (450–650 meters). There you will find shops (including an organic shop, a bakery and a supermarket), cafés/restaurants, a tourist information centre, a post office, a bank and an e-bike hire service.
You can enjoy cultural and sporting activities in the surrounding area.

The Ferienstudio is situated within the Binntal Nature Park nature reserve. This nature reserve covers 16,479 hectares and borders the Italian Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero Nature Park.

Enjoy magnificent views, small waterfalls and sporting/outdoor activities here in the mountains.
There are numerous hiking trails and opportunities for cycling. Spot butterflies and wildlife such as Alpine marmots, roe deer and squirrels in the unspoilt countryside. Spot birds such as the golden eagle, the crossbill, the spotted nutcracker, the golden oriole and the long-eared owl. Admire special plants and flowers such as edelweiss and lady’s slipper. You might even find minerals on your hike!

The weather in Ernen
The sun shines in Ernen for up to 300 days a year. The climate is dry and mild. You can check the weather forecast on MeteoSwiss (though it isn’t always accurate).
In Switzerland, there are four distinct seasons:
- Spring (March–May). The meadows turn green. The trees blossom. In May, the weather can sometimes feel like summer.
- Summer (June–August). Many flowers are in bloom. Temperatures can reach 25–30 degrees Celsius or even higher.
- Autumn (September – mid-November). The leaves on the deciduous trees change colour.
- Winter (mid-November – March/April). There is snow on the ground. It can be cold (though it can feel pleasant in the sun).
What language is spoken in Ernen?
In Valais, French and German (including Swiss German) are the official languages. In the district of Goms, German is the most commonly used language. In practice, people may also speak the local dialect (Wallisertiitsch). Some people also speak English.

Ernen is located in the district of Goms. Goms is situated in the north-eastern part of Valais. Goms stretches from Grengiols to the Rhône Glacier. Goms is home to authentic villages with wooden houses.
